Often times, the decision on whom to promote to a supervisory position is based on how well the person performs his or her assigned job. And it makes sense to promote a person as a reward for a job well done. But many times, the new supervisor is unintentionally set up for failure. You do this if you place a person in a role that he may not fully understand—or, worse yet, a role with legal responsibilities the new supervisor doesn't even know she has.
Bring your supervisors along and listen to this 90-minute audio conference that addresses the safety roles and responsibilities of front-line management. Under the law, these positions are agents of the company, representing you and executive management to the employees and to the regulatory agencies. In this audio conference, you and your supervisors will learn what the law expects of them—and the legal and practical consequences if they fall short.
During this 90-minute audio conference, our legal expert—a lawyer and safety professional—will help you:
- Learn the responsibilities, roles, and rights that managers and supervisors have during inspections
- Understand the importance of intelligent documentation to comply with regulations and create a defense to citations
- Review roles in interacting with and being responsible for direct-report employees
- Develop legally sound procedures and actions for incident investigations
- Obtain the latest information on contractor liability and best approaches to select contractors to work on-site
- Learn how to best utilize specialists, consultants, and expert witnesses
