On August 5, Cal/OSHA implemented the new Aerosol Transmissible Diseases (ATD) standard—clearly aimed at protecting workers from H1N1 flu by, among other things, making sure employers provide appropriate respiratory protection.

The end of the year is a good time to review the requirements of this and other respiratory protection rules to make sure you start 2010 in full compliance—and protect your workers from the inhalation of both dangerous germs and harmful materials.

Join us on December 18 for an in-depth webinar specifically for California employers on the respiratory protection program requirements. You'll learn:

  • How to comply with the Cal/OSHA respiratory protection standard and the new ATD standard
  • The terms and definitions involved in "respiratory protection"
  • How to select an effective program administrator
  • Which hazards require respiratory protection
  • How to write and implement a respiratory protection program
  • How to select the right respirator for the specific workplace hazards your employees face
  • What you need to know about medical evaluation, fit testing, and recordkeeping
  • The proper way to fit check and train employees on the use or respirators
  • How to determine whether respirator use is voluntary vs. mandatory
  • How to clean, inspect, store and maintain respirators
  • The ongoing program maintenance requirements you need to keep in mind
