Manlift Safety Policy

[Company] provides belt-driven manlifts for the use of employees in moving quickly up and down between levels in the workplace. These manlifts may only be used by employees of [Company] who have been trained in their safe use, and who have been authorized by [Company] to use the manlifts.

Before a worker is authorized to use the manlifts, the worker must demonstrate:

  • the ability to safely enter and exit the manlift, traveling both up and down

  • the ability to operate the manlift's emergency controls

  • an understanding of manlift safety rules.

Rules for safe use of the manlift include:

  • Face the manlift.

  • Stand on the step and hold the handhold.

  • Never carry or transport freight, packaged goods, tools, or construction materials of any kind on the manlift.

Employees who violate this policy are subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination from employment.


Employee Acknowledgment

I acknowledge receipt of [Company]'s Manlift Safety Policy. I understand that I am responsible for reading and understanding the Policy.

A representative from [Company]'s [specify department] has reviewed the policy with me. I have had the opportunity to ask questions about the policy, and I understand that if I have any questions about the policy in the future I can obtain information from the [specify department].
