California Hazardous Material Business Plan Requirements: What You Need to Know to Be In Compliance and Avoid Penalties

Employer Resource Institute Webinar

In California, nearly every company that handles a hazardous material, or a mixture containing a minimum quantity of a hazardous material, must comply with the California Hazardous Material Business Plan requirements and the Federal Emergency Planning & Right-to-Know Act.

Your plans must include detailed information about the hazardous materials used and stored at the facility, emergency response plans in case of a reportable release of hazardous materials, and the training program for new and existing employees.

Businesses that fail to comply with these requirements face steep penalties and fines that grow exponentially if the noncompliance results in, or significantly contributes to an emergency. You could actually be assessed the full cost of the emergency response - including clean up and disposal of hazardous materials.

Join us on January 29 for an in-depth webinar that will help your company properly prepare its hazardous material business plan. Be sure to bring your management team along to hear the specifics and set a course for your company's compliance with these regulations. You'll learn:

  • The nuts and bolts of the regulations
  • Step-by step compliance requirements, both state and federal
  • What must be included in your hazardous material business plan
  • The deadlines for submission, and how frequently your plan needs to be updated
  • The organizations that are exempt from submitting hazardous material business plans
  • Which forms to use when submitting your plan
  • The potential fines and penalties for noncompliance
