Bulletin: Recordkeeping reminder: Don't forget to post Cal/OSHA Form 300A

Beginning February 1 and through April 30, 2009, you're required to post the Cal/OSHA Form 300A annual summary log of injuries and illnesses that occurred in 2008. Even if you had no recordable injuries or illnesses in 2008, you must still post a summary with zeros in the total line. This posting requirement applies to most employers that had 10 or more employees in 2008, except for those in partially exempt industries, and it is designed to alert workers to hazards that may exist in their workplace . . . more »
Recordkeeping: Observing the Formalities; Avoid Citations by Keeping Your Form 300 Correctly

They may seem insignificant, but little things can really add up--like the penalties attached to citations for not keeping your Log 300 forms properly and not providing them to state Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) inspectors in a timely manner. These penalties typically run between $150 and $375, with the possibility of reductions for good faith or financial hardship--but if you're not keeping your Log 300 correctly, you could also be hit with multiple violations of the Division of Labor Statistics and Research recordkeeping rules, contained in Title 8, Section 14300.
